Quick answers
Does a sleep plan replace hours-of-service rules?
No. Hours-of-service rules — like the 11-hour driving limit inside a 14-hour duty window — are federal requirements, and your company's policies sit on top of them. ShiftSync plans your sleep inside your off-duty time so the rest you get actually counts. It isn't legal or safety advice: when in doubt, follow the regulations and your safety department.
How does split sleeper-berth sleep work with this?
The sleeper-berth split (7/3 or 8/2) works the way anchor sleep does: keep one longer protected block as your fixed point and let the shorter block flex with your stops. ShiftSync times the long block first, then fits the rest of your sleep around it.
When do I cut caffeine before a berth break?
About 8 hours before you plan to sleep. On a night run ending at 5 AM with sleep at 7 AM, the last coffee lands around 11 PM — early in the run, not at the last fuel stop.
